Arc Raiders: Feature or Bug? Players Learn How to Obtain the “Comet Igniter Device”

Not all players have successfully acquired the newly added loot item in Arc Raiders.

Recently, the developers of Arc Raiders introduced new enemy types and a “Weather Monitoring System” project to the game. While players quickly cleared the first phase of this new content, many found themselves stuck on the second. Completing this stage requires delivering a “Comet Igniter Device,” which is dropped by a specific new robotic enemy.

Players reported a peculiar issue: after defeating the “Comet,” two potential loot collection points would appear. One would function as expected, but the other would remain unresponsive to interaction attempts.

Initially, many assumed this was a bug. However, fellow players participating in online discussions quickly clarified that those experiencing the problem were simply defeating the “Comet” incorrectly.

The key lies in understanding the “Comet’s” behavior: it charges towards players with the intent to self-destruct. If the “Comet” detonates on its own, the valuable “Comet Igniter Device” will not drop. To ensure the loot appears, players must destroy the “Comet” *before* it has a chance to explode by itself. When executed correctly, the previously unresponsive second loot collection point will become active, allowing players to collect the device.

For effective elimination of the “Comet,” players highly recommend using the “Wolf Pack” grenade. This weapon is also noted to be quite effective against “Firefly” enemies, making it a versatile choice for dealing with these specific threats.
