The worst predictions regarding the fate of Ballistic Moon, the studio behind the 2024 remake of Until Dawn, have been confirmed. The team has officially been disbanded.
Documents verifying the studio’s liquidation show that the application was filed on November 11, 2025, with execution occurring on February 3, 2026. This information was confirmed by the British service Final Gazette Notice, not by Sony Interactive Entertainment or the studio itself.
It’s worth noting that the Until Dawn remake was developed by former Supermassive Games creators, including Duncan Kershaw, Neil McEwan, and Chris Lamb, who worked at the studio during various periods.
Despite the team’s experience, the updated game did not generate significant interest. Following its premiere, a wave of layoffs ensued, and by March 2025, the studio was already widely perceived as closed, a status that has now only been formalized.
