‘Beef’ Creators Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo Tapped for Jake Schreier’s X-Men Reboot Script

Marvel is actively assembling its creative team for the much-anticipated ‘X-Men’ reboot. Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo, celebrated for their work on the hit series ‘Beef,’ have officially joined the project as screenwriters. This marks a reunion for the duo with director Jake Schreier, as they previously collaborated on ‘Beef’ and the upcoming ‘Thunderbolts*.’

Schreier emphasized his value for their unique ability to weave profound personal character conflicts with broader, more expansive thematic storylines, which he believes is crucial for crafting an outstanding ‘X-Men’ film.

While plot specifics, cast details, and an exact release date remain under wraps, the film is projected to premiere after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ tentatively in 2028, signaling the commencement of Phase Seven of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
