Bloober Team has officially announced that it is not internally developing the next installment in the Layers of Fear series. Instead, the upcoming Layers of Fear game is being created by an external partner studio. While the partner’s name hasn’t been officially disclosed, it is widely believed to be Anshar Studios, which previously collaborated with Bloober Team on the Layers of Fear collection. Bloober Team will retain ownership of the intellectual property and remains actively involved in the production process.
Piotr Babieno, the CEO of Bloober Team, further clarified that the studio’s two main internal development teams are currently dedicated to other major projects. One team is focused on the previously announced Silent Hill remake for Konami, following their successful work on the Silent Hill 2 Remake. The second team, which previously developed the horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, is now working on a brand-new original project codenamed “Project H.”
“Project H” is currently in its pre-production phase and is described by Babieno as the most ambitious project in Bloober Team’s history, possessing the largest commercial potential. Notably, its development budget is not expected to exceed the costs associated with Cronos: The New Dawn.
