The acclaimed anime adaptation of Q Hayashida’s unique manga is making a grand comeback after a six-year hiatus.
Studio MAPPA has officially released the first trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the “Dorohedoro” anime. This continuation is slated to premiere on Netflix and Crunchyroll on April 1st, marking more than six years since the initial season’s debut.
MAPPA is once again at the helm for the new season’s production. Director Yuichiro Hayashi, known for his recent work on the finale of “Attack on Titan,” returns to steer the project. The script is once again penned by Hiroshi Seko, and Tomohiro Kishi is supervising the character designs, ensuring a consistent visual style.
The musical score, mirroring the first season, is crafted by the distinctive group (K)NoW_NAME. The newly released trailer features exciting snippets of the upcoming opening theme, “Zettai Must Danmen,” and the ending theme, “Return To Head.”
The plot of the sequel will delve deeper into the narrative of Caiman and Nikaido, set against the brutal backdrop of the clash between the sorcerer world and the desolate city known as the Hole. A significant focus will be placed on the Cross-Eyes faction – a collective of less powerful sorcerers who challenge the established order. Their escalating conflict with En’s formidable organization is poised to be one of the central and most crucial storylines of the upcoming season.
