Cosplayer LaSombra has offered an exclusive look into the intricate and chilling process behind her latest creation: a Drukhari maid costume inspired by the dark universe of Warhammer 40,000. This unique portrayal features a Dark Eldar character showcasing her gruesome collection of “human faces,” a truly unsettling sight from the grimdark future.

LaSombra, a known enthusiast of the brutal Warhammer 40,000 lore, fearlessly delves back into this treacherous universe. Her latest project brings to life a disturbing vision from Gray-Skull Art, depicting a Drukhari maid. The costume’s unsettling realism is largely attributed to its key elements: a dress and apron that appear to be crafted from human skin.

To further assist fellow creators and demystify her methods, LaSombra released a special video detailing the construction of the costume. In this revealing tutorial, she clarifies how she meticulously created the “human skin” elements of the dress and apron using artificial materials, ensuring a purely artistic endeavor while perfectly capturing the horrific aesthetic of the Drukhari.

Beyond the video guide, LaSombra generously shared free printable files for molds of various facial expressions—including a male face, a female face, and a generic screaming visage—designed for replication by other crafters. The entire horrifying ensemble, a true testament to her dedication, required 14 dedicated working days to complete.

About the Drukhari:

Also known as Dark Eldar, the Drukhari are a sadistic faction within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, notorious for their depraved practices and insatiable hunger for suffering. They revel in the torment of captives, believing themselves the true inheritors of the ancient Eldar Empire and looking down upon all other races with contempt.

For these cursed beings, the agony and terror of their victims are as intoxicating as the sharp caress of a blade. They prolong suffering, savoring every nuance of despair and fear, often denying their pleading captives the swift release of death, instead preferring to inflict prolonged and exquisite torment.
