Pearl Abyss’s action RPG, Crimson Desert, is showcasing remarkable financial performance since its release. The game’s sales have already surged past the 4 million copy mark and are steadily approaching 5 million, a figure officially corroborated by the developer.
According to data from the analytics firm Alinea Analytics, even before the official launch, pre-orders alone generated an impressive revenue of over $20 million. Their current estimates reveal that Crimson Desert’s total earnings across all platforms have now exceeded $200 million. It’s particularly noteworthy that the PlayStation 5 version has been exceptionally lucrative, contributing nearly $75 million to the overall sum.
Analysts have also identified an intriguing crossover in player demographics. Approximately 38% of Crimson Desert players on PS5 were also found to be actively engaging with another prominent open-world action RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2. Other popular titles favored by Crimson Desert’s audience include Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
