Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026: Top Nominees Revealed for Anime of the Year & Film

Crunchyroll has unveiled the nominees for its milestone tenth annual Anime Awards 2026. The winners of these prestigious awards are determined by a combination of votes from both a judging panel and the global audience.

In the highly anticipated “Anime of the Year” category, six outstanding projects are vying for the top honor:

  • Dandadan Season 2
  • Gachiakuta
  • My Hero Academia Final Season
  • Takopi’s Original Sin
  • The Apothecary Diaries Season 2
  • The Summer Hikaru Died

For the “Film of the Year” category, another strong lineup of contenders has been announced:

  • Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc
  • Demon Slayer: The Infinity Castle Arc
  • The 100-Meter Race
  • Mononoke: Chapter II — Ashes of Fury
  • Scarlet
  • The Rose of Versailles

Nominees have also been revealed across various other categories, including Best Original Series, Best Continuation, Best New Series (Debut), Best Direction, Best Animation, and individual acting performances.

Voting for the winners is currently open and will conclude on April 15th via the official Crunchyroll website. The final results will be announced at a grand ceremony in Tokyo on May 23rd.
