A unique, separate map was specifically crafted for the recording of this particular cutscene.

Lance McDonald, a prominent blogger and dataminer highly regarded within the FromSoftware fan community, recently returned to explore Elden Ring’s hidden files. During his investigation, he successfully uncovered a previously unseen, cut cutscene from the game.

It has come to light that the developers initially planned to feature a cinematic showing the dramatic emergence and early growth of Miquella’s Haligtree.

Intriguingly, this particular cutscene was not set within the main interactive game world but rather on a specially designed, isolated map. Furthermore, a dark detail within the scene reveals that blood was depicted as being used for “fertilizer” to nourish the tree’s development.

Considering the relatively simple graphics present in this rediscovered footage, it is widely presumed that the Elden Ring developers opted to discard this concept during the very early stages of the game’s production.
