It appears the highly anticipated Elden Ring film adaptation, under the direction of Alex Garland, is actively moving forward.
Recently, fans on social media platforms like TikTok and Reddit shared what seem to be the first glimpses from the movie’s set. The footage reveals ongoing construction of elaborate sets, including a clearly identifiable statue of Queen Marika and distinctive stone ruins reminiscent of iconic locations within the Lands Between.

The official announcement for the Elden Ring film project was made in May 2025. Production is a collaborative effort between A24 and Bandai Namco, with Alex Garland, renowned for his work on films such as ’28 Days Later,’ ‘Ex Machina,’ and ‘Annihilation,’ taking the helm as director.
Since its announcement, concrete details about the project have been scarce; plot specifics, cast members, and an exact release date are still unknown. It’s estimated that the film is unlikely to premiere before 2027. However, the emergence of these production sets serves as an encouraging indicator that the filmmaking process is steadily advancing.
