The iconic Mirror’s Edge franchise continues to captivate its dedicated fanbase.

Recently, the gaming community’s attention was drawn back to the original Mirror’s Edge when a game preservation group announced the discovery and efforts to launch an old archived build.

This Mirror’s Edge prototype, created approximately nine months before the game’s official release, was unearthed over five years ago. However, getting it to run was a significant challenge due to extensive damage in the game’s code and numerous bugs.

Despite these hurdles, a team of tech enthusiasts successfully restored this build and managed to launch it on personal computers using the RPCS3 emulator.

This achievement now offers fans a unique opportunity to explore a “draft” version of the game, complete with early level prototypes and unpolished gameplay mechanics.
