The recently released free “Age of Sail” expansion has significantly broadened the game, introducing new ships and massive naval battles across 15 maps. Online skirmishes now support over a hundred players per server, establishing it as one of the largest formats in its genre.

The launch of this complimentary DLC swiftly captured the attention of a wide audience. The game broke its previous record for concurrent players, with over 5,000 individuals simultaneously engaging in Holdfast: Nations At War across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.

Specifically on Steam, where the project boasts an average rating of 90%, 3,493 concurrent players were recorded on Sunday. This marks the best performance since the game’s initial release in 2020.

An additional factor contributing to its surge in popularity is the ongoing sale, offering Holdfast: Nations At War at a 50% discount on Steam.
