CD Projekt Co-founders Named in Shamanic Ritual Death Investigation

Polish prosecutors have reopened an investigation into the mysterious death of a 54-year-old Polish woman in the Czech Republic in 2018. The woman's body was discovered on a farm where, according to investigators, illegal shamanic ceremonies using the psychedelic drink ayahuasca were being conducted.

The case files mention the names of prominent Polish entrepreneurs – CD Projekt co-founders Michał Kiciński and Marcin Iwiński. Investigators suspect the tragedy may be linked to one of these ceremonies, where participants were given a mind-altering drink made from Amazonian plants, containing substances banned in many European countries.

It was established that Michał Kiciński, a co-founder of CD Projekt and former head of CD Projekt RED (known for The Witcher series), was one of the co-owners of the farm. A journalistic inquiry revealed that shamanic rituals were held on the farm's premises, organized by an individual named Bartosz B., known among participants as "Badi." Kiciński reportedly attended such ceremonies himself and maintained contact with their organizers, including "Badi" and another person who called himself "shaman" Jarosław Kordysa.

The name of the second CD Projekt co-founder, Marcin Iwiński, also appeared in the investigation materials. During the same period, he acquired property in the nearby Czech town of Nýdek, where, according to the investigation, similar ceremonies might have also taken place. Iwiński, however, told investigators that he merely allowed acquaintances to temporarily use the house during his absence and was unaware of any rituals being conducted, emphasizing his non-involvement in their organization.

The woman's death occurred in 2018, but the initial investigation did not yield conclusive results. Several years later, Polish law enforcement received new information, prompting them to reopen the case. Investigators are now striving to reconstruct the events of that night and determine whether the property owners could be linked to the organizers of the ceremonies.
