Some players believed a completely different team was working on Marathon.

Recently, some fans of Bungie’s work expressed dissatisfaction with the studio’s use of the phrase “from the creators of Halo” in promotional materials for their upcoming game, Marathon. Players questioned the accuracy of this statement, speculating that the team responsible for the original Halo had long since departed the studio.

Responding to this criticism, project designer Elliot Gray addressed the concerns in a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) page. He emphasized that such assertions are inaccurate. Furthermore, Gray provided an impressive list of approximately 40 individuals who were involved in the creation of Halo and continue to work at Bungie.

Among these experienced studio veterans are names like Chris Butcher, Jason Jones, Lars Bakken, Tyson Green, Mat Noguchi, and Dave Gasca, along with many others.
