Paradox Development Studio’s grand strategy game, Hearts of Iron IV, is approaching its tenth anniversary on June 6th. To mark this significant milestone, the developers have outlined a series of upcoming free improvements and new content.
Players can anticipate a comprehensive free update that will enhance AI, boost overall game performance, and squash various bugs. A notable addition in this update will be the implementation of “click reduction technologies” for features that previously required excessive mouse clicks, aiming to streamline the player experience.
Work is also progressing on rebalancing the game’s naval combat system. Developers specifically mentioned changes related to submarine detection. These fleet adjustments are slated for release alongside the “Peace for our Time” DLC, which is being co-created with community modders and will introduce new national focus trees.
Furthermore, the “Thunder at our Gates” DLC is currently in its final stages of polish. This expansion will bring fresh national focus trees for Australia, Siam, and Indonesia, enriching the strategic options available to players in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
All these exciting content additions and game updates are scheduled for release in the first half of 2026. While the game’s anniversary is just around the corner, specific details regarding the celebration plans remain under wraps for now.
