HoYoverse has surprised Honkai Star Rail fans with the announcement of a new, alternative version of the character Blade, confirming that Dan Heng isn’t the only one capable of profound transformations. This highly anticipated 5-star character, named Mortenax Blade, will follow the Path of Nihility and deal Fire damage.
This is a notable departure from the original Blade, who adheres to the Path of Destruction and wields the Wind element.
While details of his gameplay have not yet been revealed, the developers provided an intriguing lore description:
“His body is like a spring tree, his heart like dead ash, but sparks of mastery still smolder at his fingertips. A centuries-old enmity has rekindled, and he has vowed to send himself along with the gods to another world… Torn flesh, tempered a thousand times in the blade… What answer will be forged?”
Mortenax Blade is expected to debut in Honkai Star Rail version 4.2. The presentation for the upcoming update is scheduled for April 10.
