Insider Confirms Leaked Script Details for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil Film

According to recent information, an early leak of the script for the new Resident Evil film by Zach Cregger appears to be largely consistent with the final version.

In March, the complete screenplay briefly surfaced online before being swiftly removed. Nevertheless, some individuals managed to access the material. Summaries quickly circulated across the internet, sparking considerable debate due to the script’s unusual tone and numerous bizarre scenes.

Clarity emerged after test screenings. Media reports suggest the film emphasizes a high tempo, largely minimizing exposition and structuring the narrative as a continuous sequence of intense episodes. Some sources draw comparisons to George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road,” noting that the movie feels akin to playing a video game, with the main character resembling a player’s avatar.

Now, insider MyTimeToShineHello has corroborated key plot points. Their description closely aligns with the March leak, indirectly suggesting that no major alterations have been made to the script:

“In broad strokes, it’s the story of a guy tasked with delivering a bag he believes contains organs. Along the way, he gets stuck in ice, hits a female zombie, is stopped by the police, chased by a dog, and then pursued by zombies that resemble xenomorph-zombies. He encounters a character played by Paul Walter Hauser, who works for Umbrella, after which he must reach Raccoon City and deliver a cure to the 28th floor of the main building.”

The premiere of this new Resident Evil adaptation is slated for September 18, 2026.
