Following the recent announcement of full remakes for the original God of War trilogy, fans are eagerly discussing one of the most intriguing questions: will the iconic “romantic” mini-games, known from the PlayStation 2 and 3 era, return in the updated versions?
Terrence C. Carson, the original voice actor for Kratos, who is expected to reprise his role in the remakes, shared his thoughts at a MegaCon Orlando panel. When directly asked about the fate of these mini-games, Carson stated:
Listen, guys — I think so, yes.
He emphasized, however, that this is merely his personal opinion. These mini-games were a characteristic feature of old-school game design and still evoke mixed reactions. It’s noteworthy that their creation is often attributed to female developers. Former Sony Santa Monica writer Alanah Pearce previously mentioned working on them alongside other women on the team.
As of now, Sony has made no official statements regarding this matter. Fans will have to await further leaks or the official release of the remakes to discover the final decision.
