Link No Longer Needs a Sword: Zelda Players Build F-14 Fighter Jet with Missiles

Nearly three years after its release, the engineering community within The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues to astonish with its ingenuity, demonstrating remarkable creativity.

Recently, a Japanese player known as @sumoguri2323 garnered widespread attention on social media by showcasing an incredible replica of an F-14D Tomcat fighter jet. This meticulously crafted model is not merely visually impressive; it’s equipped with a fully functional missile launch system.

While this isn’t the creator’s first such endeavor, the current iteration stands as their most refined work. The player improved upon previous designs by foregoing the folding wing mechanism of an earlier model in favor of a powerful missile launcher positioned beneath the fuselage. This fighter jet is not merely a display of craftsmanship but also an exceptionally effective combat tool: videos demonstrate Link effortlessly taking down formidable foes, including the ice giant Colgera and even the final boss, Demon Dragon Ganondorf. Utilizing a combination of missiles and lasers, the aircraft allows Link to target enemies’ weak points from a safe distance.
