Bungie is set to release the first major update for Marathon later this week. This patch aims to resolve several critical issues identified by players following the game’s initial launch period.
A significant improvement involves the objective display system. Currently, mission markers only appear when players are within 10 meters of the required object, often making it challenging to locate terminals and other key points. The update will double this radius to 20 meters. Developers state this change will streamline navigation while preserving the sense of exploration they initially intended with the smaller radius.

Furthermore, the patch will introduce balance adjustments to the “Perimeter” map, increasing the availability of medical cabinets and ammunition boxes. Players will also receive more starting ammunition in basic kits provided by corporations MIDA, CyberAcme, and Arachne.
The developers also addressed criticism regarding the microtransaction economy. While major overhauls in this area won’t be part of the upcoming patch, the studio plans to implement changes in the future. A confirmed adjustment is an increase in the premium LUX currency within the $10 bundle, from 1100 to 1120. Players who have already purchased this pack will receive the additional 20 LUX.
