The creators of MindsEye have chosen an exceptionally unconventional approach. The studio head has announced a new mission designed to present what they claim is “evidence” of alleged sabotage surrounding the game’s release.

Developer Build A Rocket Boy has revealed that an upcoming update will introduce a story mission titled “Blacklist.” According to CEO Mark Gerhard, this mission will contain elements that unveil clues related to alleged sabotage which supposedly impacted the game’s launch.

Gerhard previously asserted that “organized espionage and corporate sabotage” were behind the game’s poor initial performance, claiming the matter even escalated to law enforcement agencies in both the US and UK. Now, the company aims to “tell its side of the story” directly within the game. The new mission is intended not only to expand the game’s narrative but also to present the community with fragments of material connected to these accusations.

The situation appears highly ambiguous. MindsEye experienced a very weak launch in 2025, drawing heavy criticism for its bugs and low quality, resulting in some of the lowest ratings in the industry. Consequently, some players remain skeptical, believing the game’s problems stem from production errors rather than any external interference.
