NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE Anime Gets Main Trailer and Premiere Date

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE, the popular visual novel exploring the life of an unstable streamer, is set to premiere on April 4th.

The creators have unveiled the official main trailer and a new key visual featuring Chou-chan. The precise premiere date has been announced: the series will debut on April 4th at 18:30 MSK (Moscow Standard Time).

The anime is based on the game NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE, developed by WSS playground and xemono. Released in 2022, it quickly became a viral sensation, accumulating nearly 50,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews (94%) on Steam.

In the game, players assume the role of a producer for a girl named Ame, who streams under the alias OMGkawaiiAngel with the ambition of becoming a top internet idol. What begins as a streamer simulator with visual novel elements gradually evolves into an intense psychological horror.

The adaptation will present an original story set within the established universe, rather than being a direct narrative adaptation of the game. Yostar Pictures, known for works like Arknights and Blue Archive, is handling the production.

The original universe creator, nyalra, is overseeing the script and overall concept. Masaoki Nakajima, who previously directed a short version, is helming the project as director. The soundtrack is being composed by Aiobahn +81, Sasuke Haraguchi, and DÉ DÉ MOUSE, all of whom also contributed to the game’s music.
