The highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 box office phenomenon, ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie,’ is scheduled to arrive in Russian cinemas in April 2026.
Nintendo and Illumination have officially released the final trailer for their upcoming animated feature, ‘Super Mario: Galactic Movie.’ This new installment promises an expansive cosmic adventure for the beloved heroes, taking them far beyond the familiar confines of the Mushroom Kingdom where they will confront Bowser Jr.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are once again at the helm as directors, with Matthew Fogel credited for the screenplay. The film is produced by Chris Meledandri representing Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto representing Nintendo, ensuring creative continuity from the previous success. Brian Tyler also returns to compose the musical score.
‘Super Mario: Galactic Movie’ is slated for a worldwide premiere on April 1, 2026. Audiences in Russian cinemas will be able to experience the animated film beginning April 11, 2026.
The original film, ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie,’ achieved remarkable global success, grossing approximately $1.36 billion and becoming the first movie based on a video game to surpass the prestigious billion-dollar mark.
