The highly anticipated third season of Netflix’s live-action “One Piece” series is officially set to adapt one of Eiichiro Oda’s most epic and beloved manga arcs.

Netflix has unveiled a teaser for the continuation and confirmed a 2027 release date. This new installment will carry the subtitle “Battle of Alabasta,” directly adapting the iconic Alabasta Arc, which marks the eleventh major storyline from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga.

The storyline will center on Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates’ urgent journey to the desert kingdom of Alabasta, a nation teetering on the brink of a devastating civil war. The orchestrator behind this impending conflict is the formidable Warlord of the Sea, Crocodile, and his mysterious organization, Baroque Works, who relentlessly seek to seize control. The Straw Hats must intervene to thwart the imminent catastrophe and restore peace to the troubled kingdom.

Reportedly, production for the third season commenced as early as November 2025. This proactive start is a strategic move, widely expected to significantly reduce the customary waiting period between seasons, much to the delight of the global fanbase.

In a related announcement, Netflix also revealed plans for a special LEGO animated episode. This unique special will offer a lighthearted and humorous recap of the key events from the first two live-action seasons, serving as an engaging and fun primer for viewers before they dive into the upcoming adventures.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that the original “One Piece” anime resumed airing on April 5th and has adopted a revised release schedule. Episodes will now be delivered in blocks of 26 per year, a significant change specifically designed to maintain a more consistent and balanced narrative pace.
