Palworld CEO’s Slay the Spire 2 Obsession Leads to Team Intervention

The head of Pocketpair, the studio behind the global hit game Palworld, has reportedly become so utterly engrossed in the recently released Slay the Spire 2 that his own development team felt compelled to intervene in a humorous way.

Slay the Spire 2, a highly anticipated card-based roguelike, quickly captured the attention of gamers and industry professionals alike following its recent launch. However, for Takuro Mizobe, CEO of Pocketpair, this fascination escalated into an intense obsession, causing playful concern among his subordinates.

A member of the Pocketpair team shared a snippet of a conversation on social media, illustrating that Mizobe was dedicating an excessive amount of time to playing Slay the Spire 2. This led to a lighthearted “reprimand” from his own staff, who comically threatened to confiscate his Steam Deck if he didn’t moderate his gaming habits.

Apparently, even these playful “threats” had little impact. A subsequent photo further revealed the studio head continuing his gaming marathon, suggesting that Slay the Spire 2 has indeed “taken over his life.”
