The indie development teams, Aggro Crab and Landfall, have recently responded to player feedback concerning their cooperative game, PEAK. A segment of the player base had criticized the game’s ongoing support and updates, labeling the developers as “lazy.” This criticism emerged despite PEAK being an indie project priced at approximately $8, with some players expecting regular free content additions and a clear development roadmap.
In response, the official Landfall account emphasized that PEAK has already received multiple updates since its launch. They also clarified that neither Landfall nor Aggro Crab operate under the live-service game model, which typically entails continuous, extensive post-release content cycles as a core business strategy.
Any update is a bonus, not an obligation.

It is important to consider PEAK’s modest price point, costing around $8, and that all three updates released to date have been distributed completely free of charge. Nevertheless, some players remain dissatisfied, pointing to other online projects, even those affordably priced, that frequently offer prolonged support and a steady stream of new content.
The developers addressed these concerns with a composed yet firm stance. They reminded players of the new biomes and features already introduced into the game and confirmed plans for at least one more upcoming update.
Games used to be released without any updates at all. We have already done significantly more than what was traditionally expected.
— Landfall
