Playable Demo Released for Fan Remake of Canceled Fallout 3: Van Buren, Built on Fallout: New Vegas

Long-time fans of the Fallout series have always dreamt of seeing the canceled third installment, famously known as “Van Buren,” brought to life. That dream is now taking a significant step towards reality.

The dedicated modding team, The United West Team, has recently unveiled a playable demo for their ambitious project, “The New West.” This fan-made remake aims to meticulously recreate the original vision for Fallout 3, conceived by the legendary Black Isle Studios before its cancellation, using the robust engine of Fallout: New Vegas.

The demonstration version, titled “Fallout – The New West – Tibbets Alternate Start,” is now available for players to experience. This demo invites players to delve into the project’s prologue, set within a grimy prison environment. Within this segment, users will encounter fully voiced non-player characters (NPCs) and embark on several story-driven quests, all meticulously developed based on surviving design documents and leaked information concerning the original Van Buren concept.
