Polyarc Games, the studio celebrated for its beloved virtual reality series Moss, has announced significant staff reductions. This difficult decision comes as a direct result of financial strain following the cancellation of a key project the team was developing.
In an official statement regarding the layoffs, the developers expressed the gravity of the situation:
“We have had to significantly reduce the size of our company. This means saying goodbye to many talented individuals who have made immense contributions to our projects. We extend our gratitude to everyone affected by this decision.”

Founded by veterans from prominent studios like Bungie and Rockstar, Polyarc gained widespread recognition for its innovative VR titles, Moss and Moss: Book II. These games stood out in the VR market, particularly for their unique mechanic of communicating with the main character, Quill, through hand gestures.
While unconfirmed, unofficial reports suggest that the canceled project might have been a future installment in the popular Moss franchise. The studio has yet to officially comment on these rumors.
