Konami has proudly announced that the remake of Silent Hill 2 has been played by over 5 million people. The company clarified that this impressive figure, accurate as of late January 2026, includes not only direct purchases but also players who accessed the horror title through subscription services such as PlayStation Plus.
The game made its debut on PlayStation Plus Extra on October 15, 2025. Remarkably, just two days later, Konami revealed that the remake had already sold over 2.5 million copies, contributing to the Silent Hill series’ total sales exceeding 10 million units at that time.
In November 2025, the game also launched on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles. This release was accompanied by a significant 50% discount, which likely helped to boost its player count. However, it appears that the vast majority of the 5 million players originated from Sony’s platforms.
