Stormgate’s Online Features to Be Disabled as Server Partner Shifts to AI Focus

The highly anticipated real-time strategy game, Stormgate, developed by Frost Giant Studios and drawing inspiration from the Warcraft series, is facing significant challenges. The developers have announced the upcoming discontinuation of its online modes. This decision stems from the cessation of their partnership with server provider Hathora.

It has come to light that Hathora was recently acquired by Fireworks AI. Following this acquisition, Hathora began phasing out its existing services, with its server infrastructure being repurposed to support the new owner’s artificial intelligence initiatives.

Frost Giant Studios confirmed that the online functionalities for Stormgate are scheduled to be deactivated by the end of April. This change will result in a planned downtime for the game’s multiplayer components. While an update will be released enabling offline play, all network-dependent features will no longer be accessible.
