While fans eagerly await the upcoming release of Subnautica 2, they can now immerse themselves in the deep-sea survival adventure series on their mobile devices.
Playdigious, in collaboration with Unknown Worlds, has officially launched Subnautica: Below Zero for both iOS and Android platforms.
Below Zero serves as a standalone sequel to the critically acclaimed original Subnautica. This installment transports players back to planet 4546B, but this time to an uncharted arctic biome. The narrative follows a protagonist who, after a crash landing, must explore the treacherous frozen waters and icy surface of the planet to uncover the mystery surrounding her sister’s disappearance.
The mobile adaptation boasts a redesigned user interface and optimized touch controls to ensure a seamless experience on smartphones and tablets. Android users can look forward to Google Play Games achievements and cloud saves, with full gamepad support also confirmed across both platforms. The game is priced at $8.99. Interestingly, despite promising full Russian language support, the game is currently unavailable in Russian mobile storefronts.
As a reminder, the original Subnautica made its mobile debut in July 2025. Meanwhile, Unknown Worlds is actively developing Subnautica 2, with its release slated for 2026. This highly anticipated title currently tops Steam’s wishlist charts, boasting nearly 4 million additions, highlighting significant player excitement for the next chapter in the series.
