The classic city-building simulator, Townsmen – A Kingdom Rebuilt from HandyGames, is set to make its return to smartphones. Following its removal from the Netflix catalog, pre-registration for the game is now available on Google Play for Android devices.
Players will embark on a journey to transform a small village into a bustling medieval metropolis. Gameplay involves establishing complex production chains, catering to the needs of your citizens, and defending your settlement from various threats, ranging from natural disasters to bandit raids. The game boasts over 150 buildings, dozens of unique scenarios, and a free-form sandbox mode for endless creativity.
Originally launched on PC in 2019, the title garnered significant praise, achieving approximately 80% positive reviews. It later arrived on mobile in 2022 as part of Netflix Games but was removed in mid-2025 as the service revised its mobile strategy.
The upcoming smartphone version will faithfully preserve all the original content, enhanced with optimized touch controls and full support for the Russian language. While a free trial will be offered, the full game is expected to cost around 899 rubles.
A specific release date has yet to be announced. The status of the iOS version remains uncertain; although a game page exists on the App Store, it is currently marked as an “Apple TV only” project, and trailers for the mobile version do not mention App Store availability.
