Valve has unveiled a redesigned Steam store homepage, initiating a public beta test for a more informative and cohesive user experience.
Recently, Valve announced the commencement of beta testing for the new Steam store page, stating:
“Over the years, we’ve continually added new sections and features to help users discover and engage with games. With this update, our focus is on enhancing the overall coherence of the homepage.”

Each section of the updated homepage now offers a unique set of tools and information, providing players with diverse methods to explore Steam’s extensive game catalog.
“The primary objective of this visual overhaul is to strike a balance between interface consistency and preserving the distinct characteristics of each section.”
Valve has also introduced an option for players to disable the automatic playback of video (micro-trailers) and other animations, offering a more customizable browsing experience.
The recommendation list has been updated, now allowing quick previews of games directly within the list without requiring users to navigate away from the current page.

For the “Popular & Recommended” section, more detailed information has been added to explain the rationale behind each game recommendation to the user.
The new design also features infinite scrolling:
“The refreshed design ensures the homepage aligns visually and functionally with other sections of the store.”
Instructions on how to opt into the Steam beta program are readily available for users wishing to try out the new design.
