The development studio behind the game has openly acknowledged the extremely negative reception of its new title. The project continues to receive very low user ratings, with its average score holding at a mere 33% on Steam.

A representative from Straight4 Studios issued a candid statement:

We won’t mince words: we failed to hit the mark. In the areas that matter most. We have disappointed both you, our players, and ourselves. (…) However, we are actively working to change our course. After releasing seven patches, we are confident that we are on the right path to deliver the immersive experience you expect. (…) A significant update is scheduled for release at the end of March, which will fundamentally rebuild the core mechanics of Project Motor Racing — bringing our game closer to what a serious motorsport title truly ought to be.

The developers further stated that they would soon share more comprehensive details about this upcoming major update, slated for release in the final days of March. According to the studio, this substantial patch is expected to restore players’ confidence in Project Motor Racing. The team is currently in the process of finalizing these details.
