Spanish development studio The Breach, drawing inspiration from Rockstar’s acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2, is currently crafting a new first-person project set in the untamed Wild West.

The project, titled Westlanders, recently offered a glimpse into its pre-alpha gameplay through a revealing trailer. This footage highlights the settler’s wagon as a pivotal element of the game’s mechanics. The core gameplay revolves around an expansive journey within a sandbox environment, where the wagon functions as a mobile base. From this base, players can establish temporary camps and progressively upgrade their wagon, unlocking new functionalities.

Westlanders will feature a comprehensive “technology tree,” enabling players to construct advanced buildings vital for extracting valuable resources from mines. The developers are promising a rich variety of distinct biomes that players will need to traverse, all in pursuit of the perfect location to establish and expand their burgeoning frontier city.

Westlanders is slated for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While a precise launch date has not yet been confirmed, the creators anticipate making the project available in Early Access sometime in 2026.
