ARC Raiders Developers Discuss Simplified Crafting and Upcoming Changes
The crafting system in ARC Raiders has undergone significant simplification following the Flashpoint update. Players can now utilize a new "Acquire Resources" button, which conveniently displays all available methods for obtaining the materials they need.
Embark Studios clarified their reasoning behind this change. They acknowledged extensive player feedback indicating that the process of gathering necessary crafting materials was excessively cumbersome. While players were generally aware of how to acquire resources—such as by recycling items or purchasing from Celeste—the constant need to navigate between multiple menu screens proved to be a significant inconvenience, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the game.
The revamped system is designed to automatically utilize available resources, thereby reducing the time spent sifting through menus and inventory. The studio admits that while this update "doesn't fix everything," it represents a crucial first step, and they are "already considering the next stages of improvement."
The Embark Studios team assured players that they are committed to systematically addressing such issues and promised that more changes would be implemented soon.
Furthermore, the developers announced plans to introduce "several maps" of varying scales, with their release anticipated in 2026.
