Battlestate Games, the developers behind the online shooter Escape from Tarkov: Arena, have announced a significant change to their release schedule. The highly anticipated second season update, initially slated for the first quarter of 2026, will now be postponed.
The studio's original plan was to release the second season update for Escape from Tarkov: Arena during the first quarter. However, these plans have been revised.
In an official statement, Battlestate Games informed players that the highly anticipated 0.5.0 update for #TarkovArena, initially scheduled for Q1 2026, will now be released in mid-April 2026.
The developers confirmed that this update will introduce new content, the second season's battle pass, and various bug fixes and improvements. A pivotal decision has also been made to transition Escape from Tarkov: Arena to an updated game engine, specifically Unity 6.
This strategic move is intended to significantly improve the game's overall performance and provide a smoother gameplay experience. While this extensive engine upgrade requires more development time than initially allocated for the patch, Battlestate Games asserts it is a crucial step for the game's long-term quality and player satisfaction.
