Forza Horizon 6 is poised to deliver an unparalleled level of vehicle customization and visual fidelity, with its highly anticipated setting in Japan. Developers at Playground Games have shared exciting new details, promising an immersive experience for car enthusiasts worldwide.

Over 550 vehicles in Forza Horizon 6 are set to receive a significant graphical upgrade, benefiting from advanced light refraction shaders integrated into their headlights. Players will also gain the ability to apply new window stickers and completely wrap car bodies with an array of decals, offering extensive personalization options.

Enhanced Customization Options Detailed

According to the developers, the paint shop experience has been greatly refined and expanded:

“When selecting a color, players can easily toggle between glossy, matte, and metallic finishes. There's also the option to mark preferred materials as favorites for quick access, including new 'Candy' or 'Metal Flake' paint options. A notable enhancement is the ability to paint elements of Forza Aero body kits, such as spoiler uprights and tow hooks, independently of the main body.”

The tuning system extends beyond cosmetic changes to include deeper mechanical modifications. For instance, players will be able to swap motorcycle engines into smaller cars, opening up unique performance possibilities. The game will introduce over 100 new wheel designs, with the exciting option to mount different models on the front and rear axles. Additionally, new tire tread patterns will be available to further personalize vehicle appearance and performance.

Discover Rare Cars and Hidden Treasures Across Japan

The expansive Japanese map will serve as a hunting ground for a curated collection of rare, pre-tuned vehicles. Enthusiasts can look forward to finding iconic builds such as a Honda S2000 sporting a Rocket Bunny kit and a McLaren 570S customized by Duke Dynamics. A brand-new feature called 'Treasures' will challenge players to locate and restore classic cars based on photographic clues scattered throughout the world. Confirmed finds include a 1991 Nissan Figaro and a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T, adding a layer of exploration and discovery to the open world.

Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled for release on May 19, 2026, and will be available on PC and Xbox platforms.
