Gamers Slam "The Cube, Save Us" Despite Attractive Female Characters
The game "The Cube, Save Us," a new extraction-shooter inspired by genre mechanics, faced overwhelmingly negative reviews shortly after its release.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the game promises a unique experience where players repeatedly enter new, unpredictable locations via "Cube gates." These areas can include city blocks, pyramids, and amusement parks. In these diverse environments, players are tasked with searching for weapons, confronting mutants, and ultimately finding a way to escape.
However, player feedback highlights significant issues, including "boring PvE" and "pay-to-win" elements that detract from the experience. The PvP combat has also been heavily criticized as "terrible," with reports of players "running in circles wildly swinging weapons" and abilities having "cooldowns so long they lose all meaning."
Even the inclusion of appealing female character models couldn't rescue the game from its fundamental flaws. Its peak concurrent player count on Steam quickly plummeted from 5,000 to just 2,000, indicating a rapid loss of player interest and a strong rejection by the gaming community.
