Marvel Prepares Record-Breaking Punisher Special Ahead of 'Spider-Man: New Day'
Marvel Studios is set to release its longest-ever Special Presentation, focusing on The Punisher. The project, starring Jon Bernthal, will boast a runtime of 60 minutes, surpassing the previous record held by 'Werewolf by Night' (52 minutes).
The screenplay for the special was co-written by Bernthal himself and Reynaldo Marcus Green, who also serves as director.
While plot details remain scarce, Bernthal has promised audiences a maximally tough and dark narrative. This project will be directly connected to the upcoming film 'Spider-Man: New Day,' where The Punisher is also expected to play a significant role.
The new solo Spider-Man film, featuring Tom Holland, is scheduled to premiere on July 31, 2026. The Punisher special is anticipated to be released around the same period, potentially on the same day as the movie or shortly before its debut.
