Mega Crit Developing Three New Modes for Slay the Spire 2
In a recent interview, Mega Crit co-founder Casey Yano revealed that the studio is actively developing three new game modes for Slay the Spire 2, each tailored to appeal to different player preferences.
The first mode is designed for highly competitive players who thrive on intense challenges and seek to test their skills to the fullest. The second mode aims to provide the quintessential Slay the Spire experience in a more condensed format, perfect for players with limited time. The third mode focuses on fostering social interaction and offering a multiplayer experience, thoughtfully integrated with the game's existing systems.
Yano emphasized that the inclusion of all three modes in the final version of the game is not yet guaranteed. He expressed a strong aversion to merely adding numerous modes for the sake of quantity:
"If we find that only two of them are truly engaging, I absolutely despise the idea of having 23 useless buttons cluttering the screen. For me, that's a categorical 'no'."
Slay the Spire 2 launched approximately a month ago, and the developers are planning for an extensive early access period to refine the game further.
