NACON Puts Spiders Studio (GreedFall, Steelrising Developers) Up for Sale Amid Financial Woes
French publisher NACON is exploring the sale of Spiders, the development studio behind popular RPGs like GreedFall and Steelrising. This decision stems from severe financial difficulties, which have placed the company under judicial administration.
NACON is actively seeking a buyer for Spiders, with bids being accepted until April 14, 2026. The sale of the studio is considered a crucial step toward stabilizing the publisher's financial situation.
Should a potential investor not be found by the specified deadline, the future of Spiders, a studio responsible for several recognized RPG franchises, could be in jeopardy.
The financial crisis has not exclusively impacted Spiders. Other internal NACON studios, including Kylotonn and Cyanide, have also initiated restructuring procedures. The publisher is taking measures such as selling assets and reorganizing operations in an effort to avoid complete bankruptcy.
