New 'Ghost in the Shell' Anime Unveils Second Teaser and Poster, Featuring Motoko and Fuchikoma
The acclaimed studio Science SARU, known for "Dandadan," has released fresh promotional materials for the upcoming anime adaptation of Masamune Shirow's iconic "Ghost in the Shell" manga.
Science SARU presented both a second teaser trailer and a new key visual for the "Ghost in the Shell" anime, which is officially scheduled to premiere in July 2026.
Previously, the creators indicated that this new iteration would visually align more closely with Masamune Shirow's original manga compared to previous adaptations. The latest teaser provides a clear glimpse into the artistic style and updated designs of beloved characters, prominently featuring Motoko Kusanagi and Fuchikoma — the autonomous combat tank that serves as an enduring symbol of the franchise.
A brand new poster, crafted by character designer Shuhei Handa, also places a strong emphasis on these central figures.
The project is helmed by director Touma Kimura, also known by the alias Moko-chan. The screenplay and series composition are overseen by Tou Enjo ("Godzilla Singular Point"), while Shuhei Handa ("Scott Pilgrim Takes Off") is responsible for character design and animation direction. The musical score is being composed by a talented trio: Taisei Iwasaki, Ryo Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka.
