Pearl Abyss Aims for 5 Million Crimson Desert Sales and Considers Switch 2 Release
Pearl Abyss is optimistic about the future of its game, Crimson Desert, with expectations that sales will soon surpass the 5 million mark globally.
Ho Jin Eon, CEO of Pearl Abyss, revealed at a recent shareholders' meeting that Crimson Desert achieved remarkable success in its home market, selling 2 million copies on its launch day and reaching 3 million units within the first four days. Building on this strong start, the company anticipates global sales to exceed 5 million in the near future.
In light of Crimson Desert's promising performance, Pearl Abyss is also exploring the possibility of releasing the game on the upcoming Switch 2 console. Developers have already initiated internal research and development efforts for a potential port. However, the company acknowledges that adapting the game for Nintendo's console might necessitate certain compromises, primarily due to the device's technical specifications being less powerful than other platforms where Crimson Desert is currently available.
