PlayStation Boosts Neverness to Everness: A Free-to-Play GTA-Style Experience
Neverness to Everness (NTE), an upcoming free-to-play title styled after Grand Theft Auto, has garnered significant attention, with over 30 million registered users eagerly awaiting its launch.
Sony, through its official PlayStation channel, has now joined the promotional efforts for this Chinese-developed game.
However, PlayStation's advertisement has caused some confusion. While NTE itself will be free, the "pre-order" being promoted refers to a special "pre-order pack" containing in-game items rather than the game itself.
This pack includes: 5 Fabricated Dice, 10 De-noise Solutions, 10 Elite Hunter Guides, 10 Chaotic Dyes, 10 Manhole Bosses, and 100,000 Beetle Coins. It's widely expected that these items will be easily obtainable through regular gameplay without purchase.
The game will feature microtransactions for acquiring characters and cosmetic skins.
According to blogger Stix, NTE's microtransaction system is projected to be one of the most player-friendly among free-to-play titles originating from China. Players are reportedly guaranteed a character after 90 pulls, avoiding the often criticized "50/50" system found in games like Genshin Impact.
Furthermore, the initial roster of heroes is claimed to be sufficient for players to complete the entire story mode without needing to spend any money.
The true efficacy of these systems will become clear upon the game's release, scheduled for April 29, 2026.
