This March marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic Resident Evil franchise. To commemorate the occasion, series producer Jun Takeuchi extended a heartfelt message to the dedicated fan community.

"Today marks 30 years of Resident Evil," Takeuchi stated. "We want to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who have supported us throughout this journey — ever since the release of the first game on March 22, 1996. Recently, we launched a new game that takes players back to Raccoon City, the place where it all began. In this title, we successfully blended the two core 'hearts' of the series – horror and action – and over six million players worldwide have already experienced it. A huge thank you to everyone!"

Takeuchi further confirmed Capcom's ongoing commitment to the franchise's future development: "Our team will continue to work diligently to bring you even more vivid and thrilling experiences. It would be a great honor for us if you continue this journey with us. Thank you for your support!"

Meanwhile, many fans are actively calling on Capcom to consider developing a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica.
