With just a month remaining until its highly anticipated release, Saros, the latest title from Housemarque—the acclaimed creators of Returnal—has been made available to media outlets. This early access has allowed journalists to conduct an in-depth examination of the upcoming project.

Set to launch on April 30th, Saros is already positioning itself as a must-have PS5 exclusive, especially for enthusiasts of challenging action roguelikes. Journalists from prominent publications like IGN, GameSpot, and VGC have collectively praised the game, suggesting it could be a strong contender for Game of the Year. Players can anticipate not only a rigorous challenge but also a satisfying sense of character progression. Taking risks in battles against aggressive adversaries will be richly rewarded with valuable equipment and distinctive weapon types.

The developers at Housemarque have clearly listened to community feedback, with a significant improvement being the newly implemented save system. Mitja Roskaric, the Deputy Design Director, elaborated on this crucial feature to IGN:

"In Returnal, I always had to delete my progress to start over. Now we have multiple save slots available from the beginning, so you can have several playthroughs going simultaneously. This was extremely important to us. I know life can get busy, so being able to put down the controller and resume the game at any point is a key part of this experience."

Visually, Saros presents a unique aesthetic, blending elements of neoclassicism with 1920s Italian futurism. Despite the abundance of intricate particle effects and dynamic visuals, the game is engineered to maintain a stable 60 FPS on the PS5, promising a smooth and immersive experience.
