Slay the Spire: Downfall Board Game Expansion Smashes Kickstarter Goal in Minutes
In less than 24 hours since its launch, the crowdfunding campaign for the Downfall expansion to the board game Slay the Spire: The Board Game has already garnered nearly 200 million rubles for publisher Contention Games.
The campaign for the Downfall expansion to Slay the Spire: The Board Game, a tabletop adaptation of the popular rogue-like video game Slay the Spire (which recently received a sequel), commenced on Kickstarter on March 24th.
Contention Games achieved its initial funding goal of $50,000 (approximately 4,024,844 rubles) in a remarkable 10 minutes. The enthusiastic response from players is evident: with 15 days still remaining in the campaign, the team has already raised an impressive $2,410,523 (about 194,039,607 rubles).
The Downfall expansion will offer players the chance to take on the roles of four new characters: Slime Boss, commanding an army of slime minions; The Guardian, capable of entering a powerful defensive mode; Hexaghost, who incinerates foes with "soul burn"; and The Hermit, a pistol-wielding specialist.
Furthermore, players will discover new cards, earn unique rewards, and participate in engaging events. The standard version of the expansion is available for pre-order at $84 (6761 rubles), the Downfall Collector's Edition at $119 (9579 rubles), and the Collector's Edition of the base game (without the expansion) for $159 (12799 rubles).
Additionally, various bundles are available: the Downfall All-In set for $262 (21,090 rubles), a Collector's Bundle for $268 (21,573 rubles), and the Heart's All-In set for $425 (34,211 rubles).
