The price of the PlayStation 5 Pro model in Europe, for instance, is set to reach €900.

Sony has announced a global price increase for its PlayStation 5 consoles, including the standard PS5, the PS5 Pro, and the PlayStation Portal handheld device. These new recommended retail prices are scheduled to take effect worldwide on April 2, 2026. The company attributes this decision to the "global economic situation" and the ongoing necessity to support the development of innovative products.

The price adjustments are significant across most regions, affecting both core consoles and accessories:

  • The standard PS5, previously priced around $499 / €549 / £479, will see an increase of approximately $100 / €100 / £90.
  • The PS5 Digital Edition will climb from approximately $449 / €449 / £389 to $599 / €599 / £519, representing an increase of up to $150 in the US and €150 in Europe.
  • The PS5 Pro, initially estimated around $799, will also experience an approximate $100 price hike.
  • The PlayStation Portal will have its price raised by roughly $50 / €50 / £40.
