Subnautica 2 Creator Files New Complaint Against Krafton Over Release Date Announcement
The legal dispute involving Krafton continues.
Following a recent court decision, Ted Gill was reinstated with "full operational authority" over Unknown Worlds. Shortly after his return, Krafton announced a May release window for Subnautica 2.
However, these plans may now be in jeopardy as the reinstated developer has raised new objections against Krafton. Gill's legal team has sent a letter to the court, arguing that the release announcement was handled improperly, potentially "damaging the game and sowing additional confusion within the Subnautica community."
Furthermore, Gill's lawyers have also requested that Krafton be found in contempt of court for disregarding its prior ruling.
It appears the core of the problem is less about the "May release" itself and more about Krafton's method of announcing it. The controversial release window was revealed via a letter from Steve Papoutsis, who had been appointed head of Unknown Worlds after Ted Gill's initial dismissal.
